can't reply correctlyto securely received emails

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me here - I've set up a simple configuration at home using the vmware appliance as my gateway, and I have followed the pdf files to configure it to work with a blackberry phone. I'm using fetchmail from gmail accounts, and I have things working after a fashion except for 2 problems.

1) If i try to reply to any mail , it does not go to the original sender, it goes to the relaymail address

2) sending encrypted mail encrypts the message as far as the gateway, but the final message to the end user if not encrypted.

I apologise in advance for basic questions if this is what they are, but I've spent a few days working through this, searching for answers and I'm getting nowhere and can only assume I have some fundamental misconfiguration - can anyone assist please?

thanks in advance,

Tony

Hi Tony,

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me here - I've set up a simple
configuration at home using the vmware appliance as my gateway, and I
have followed the pdf files to configure it to work with a blackberry
phone. I'm using fetchmail from gmail accounts, and I have things
working after a fashion except for 2 problems.

1) If i try to reply to any mail , it does not go to the original
sender, it goes to the relaymail address

Did you enable the gateway for relay from a BlackBerry

See section 2.3 "Configure gateway user for relay" of the
djigzo-blackberry-quick-start-guide.

The email sent from a BB is digitally signed with your relay certificate
and encrypted with a gateway certificate. When the gateway receives the
relay email, it decrypts the message and then checks whether the sender
is allowed to relay by checking whether the message was signed with a
trusted and valid certificate and whether this certificate is set as the
relay certificate for the user.

The logs should tell you what happens to your message. If you want I can
take a look at your logs to see whether I can see why it isn't working
(you can send me the logs off-list to martijn(a)djigzo.com)

2) sending encrypted mail encrypts the message as far as the gateway,
but the final message to the end user if not encrypted.

This might be related to question 1. Only if the message is accepted as
a relay message, will the message be sent to the intended recipient.
Whether or not that message is encrypted depends on whether there is a
certificate for that recipient or whether PDF encryption is enabled.

Kind regards.
