BlackBerry

Hello,
I'm planning the development of a web service based on encrypted mail sent
by mobile devices.
BlackBerry are particularly convenient devices for my business model.
I can't exactly understand if djigzo product can help me: I would need to
send encrypted mail from a blackberry to a specific mail address; this
address would be the web service address, not belonging to the user company
(I'm supposing here that the majority of blackberry owners use their device
as a company mobile phone).
Is it possible to configure your blackberry add on and/or your server
product (gateway) to do something similar, without configure the company
BES/BIS?

Thank you in advance

Marco

Hi Marco,

mail address; this address would be the web service address, not
belonging to the user company

If I understand you correctly this is how Djigzo for BlackBerry works. A
message sent with Djigzo for BlackBerry is digitally signed on the
BlackBerry with a private key on the BlackBerry and then encrypted with
the public certificate (i.e. the public key) of the server (the Djigzo
server). The message is then sent to the configured Djigzo server's
relay email address (this specific email address should be setup in
Djigzo for BlackBerry). The Djigzo gateway receives the message,
decrypts the message and then checks the signature of the decrypted
message. If the signature if correct (i.e. PKI trusted), belongs to the
sender and the sender is allowed to relay, the message will then be
relayed by the Djigzo gateway to the intended user. With this procedure,
the message is securely tunneled from the BlackBerry to the Djigzo
gateay using an S/MIME tunnnel.

Kind regards,
