Backups from ciphermail 3.2.7-5 cannot be imported into new version 4.6.2-0

Hi there,

I wanted to update a ciphermail 3.2.7-5 installation (based on Ubuntu 14.04).
Therefore, I installed a new appliance (4.6.2-0) and tried to restore a backup from the old appliance.
Unfortunately, I did not see any of the settings...

Now my questions:

  * Could it be, that the previous system is not an appliance, but was installed manually (I did not install it, nor do I know how it was installed)? Have previous versions been based on Ubuntu Linux?
  * How can I get the data from the old appliance to the new one?
  * Would it also be possible to both update the OS (using Ubuntu's mechanisms) and then update the ciphermail packages and by that keep all my settings?
